The Accredited Social Health Activists commonly known as ASHA(s) have been the backbone of the health system in ensuring smooth health care services at both rural and urban areas in the State of Nagaland. They are paid activity-based incentives entitlements under different health programmes under the National Health Missionwhere they have to raise their claims on a monthly basis. But this led to several delays of payment in the past due to tedious, time consuming, lengthy manual approval processes.To curb this problem, the NHM, Nagaland has introduced the ASHA Connect application system to measure theperformance of ASHA and to ensure timely and transparentpayment of incentives to ASHAs allacross Nagaland.Use of the such single window centralized platform ensures accountability, efficiency, transparency and improves the system for effective monitoring of the statewide ASHAs performance.The application system is designed to be user-friendly and accessible to ASHA workers across the state.ASHA workers in Nagaland,can now raise their monthly claims and record of theirmonthly activities performed directly through their smartphones, laptops, or desktops for online processing, approval and disbursement. ASHA Connect also enables the block, district and state officials to monitor the performance of ASHAs and to generate performance and payment status reports.
